Peerceptiv to Support Online College Courses for TEL Library
TEL Library Partners with Peerceptiv to Handle All Peer-Assessment for Their Courses
The partnership is a key component in TEL Library’s ability to scale course evaluation while maintaining their commitment to real affordability and meaningful learning.
OKLAHOMA CITY (PRWEB) JUNE 25, 2019
TEL Library, a non-profit educational technology organization based in Oklahoma City, is announcing its partnership with Peerceptiv, a research-validated peer-assessment technology, to power peer-reviewed, formative assignments across its entire curriculum catalog beginning this fall.
The partnership with Peerceptiv is an important part of TEL Library’s goal to provide students with affordable, high-quality online courses that not only educate but also help learners develop valuable career skills. Peerceptiv’s technology has been informed by more than 10 years of research and its platform has been used by instructors at hundreds of institutions of higher education. Its technologies will engage TEL Library students and provide them with meaningful feedback and individualized assistance. The partnership also supports TEL Library’s mission to keep prices truly affordable without sacrificing the valuable experiences that come through personal learning interaction.
“We’re providing a general education curriculum that helps students develop and demonstrate that they’ve mastered a clearly defined set of 21st-century career skills,” said Dr. Rob Reynolds, Executive Director of TEL. “With Peerceptiv, we’re able to integrate skill mastery assignments into our curriculum in a way that will engage students and will encourage an ongoing sense of productive self-reflection. We’re particularly excited about Peerceptiv’s ability to provide objective performance data that will help us more accurately measure student mastery as we continue to refine our learning design. Moreover, their platform will support our mission as it scales into thousands of course enrollments this fall.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with TEL Library,” said Mark Limbach, CEO of Peerceptiv. “TEL understands that online learning can be both meaningful and affordable by shifting away from multiple choice and towards project-based learning. Peerceptiv supports the evidence-based assessment that doesn’t just build content knowledge but also improves the higher order thinking skills essential for career success. TEL students will learn better by learning together, and engaging with the material and with each other in ways that earn meaningful college credit.”
