Instructor Spotlight: Inspiring Career Readiness with Live Presentations
Discover how Dr. Courtney Peters, an instructor at Samford University, enhances student presentation days through the power of peer collaboration. In her Principles of Marketing and Digital Marketing & Analytics courses, Courtney has integrated Live Presentations to empower students with real-world skills and career readiness. Through engaging assignments like ‘Real-World Integration Presentations’ and the ‘Personal Marketing Plan’, students refine their critical thinking, communication, and collaboration abilities, preparing them for success in their future careers. “It allows the students to see what it looks like to walk into an interview and show confidence, have an excellent introduction, and the importance of a handshake and thanking others for the time- stuff that we don’t necessarily have an opportunity to teach each individual student. Students pick up [on these skills] more often when they review their classmates than if I’m the only one reviewing them,” says Courtney.
