Elevating Peer Feedback in the OLC Advanced Online Teaching Certificate Program
Empowering Instructional Designers through Peer Review
Peerceptiv is excited to begin partnering with the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) to provide peer learning support in continuing education courses. The OLC’s Advanced Online Teaching Certificate (AOTC) is a 12-week program designed to help educators refine existing online courses and degree programs to improve student learning. Peer feedback is a key component of this process, with participants frequently gaining valuable insights by collaborating with colleagues from other institutions.
The Online Learning Consortium chose Peerceptiv to streamline and elevate the peer review process, creating a more intuitive and impactful experience for learners. Over two weeks, participants focus on evaluating and improving the assessments in their online courses. Peerceptiv enables them to share their ideas and receive detailed feedback from peers, helping them refine their plans and make thoughtful improvements to their course assignments.
“Peerceptiv takes peer review to the next level! The integration with Canvas, and the ability to add multiple levels of review and multiple due dates, means a richer experience for learners. We are finding it works great for a peer review assignment spread over multiple weeks, [giving] everyone time to really dig in and share detailed feedback.”
– Cindy Schanke, Instructional Designer for the OLC’s Advanced Online Teaching Certificate
In the process of completing this assignment and other activities throughout the AOTC program, faculty explore tools like Peerceptiv while learning to apply new techniques and theories to elevate their course design and teaching skills. The OLC offers this program and many other professional development opportunities via their Center for Professional Learning.
